ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Oak Creek Academy offers rolling admissions, and students are accepted on a space-available basis throughout the year.

Admission decisions are made based on a variety of information, including psycho-educational evaluations, previous school records, classroom observations during trial days, and a tour with a school administrator.

Additional diagnostic and psychological testing may be required.

Initial Contact

We’d love to connect with you!  If you’re ready to begin the enrollment process or have a few questions, please complete our contact form. Once we receive it, someone from our team will reach out within 1–3 business days to answer your questions or set up a tour.

To make sure we can support your child in the best way possible, we ask that you share openly about their needs, strengths, and behaviors. The more we know, the better we can work together to create a great experience for your child.

When you come for a tour, we’ll walk you through our school so you can see the classrooms, activity areas, and all the spaces where your child will learn and grow. We’ll also share what a typical day looks like and talk through expectations together. This is a great time for us to sit down and get to know more about your child’s unique needs. If you have outside evaluations, IEPs, or medical records that you feel would help us better understand your child, you’re welcome to bring those along.

We’d also love for your child to join the tour! It’s a wonderful way to start making connections and gives them a chance to meet us in a relaxed, friendly setting—without the pressures of the classroom.

After the tour, the principal will talk with you about next steps. In some cases, she may recommend additional evaluations or supports before enrollment. In other cases, we may schedule a trial day so your child can join a regular school day. This helps us learn more about your child and gives the teacher valuable feedback on the best placement.

While OCA is an inclusive environment, we’ve found that some students are better supported when certain therapies or strategies are in place beforehand. Taking this step helps set both your child and our teachers up for success.

If we recommend additional testing or therapies before your child begins, we’ll share resources and contacts to help you get started. Please know that we’ll stay connected throughout this process—our team is always just a phone call or email away if you have questions or need support.

If a trial day is recommended, we’ll work together to find a date that allows your child to spend time in the classroom. We do our best to match your family’s availability while also making sure the classroom setting is ready to welcome them.

Once therapies are in place—or after we’ve had a chance to review your child’s trial day—we’ll connect with you to talk through next steps, complete enrollment paperwork, and decide on a start date together.

To help your child’s teacher feel fully prepared and to make the transition as smooth as possible, we ask that paperwork be turned in at least 48 hours before the first day. This ensures we have plenty of time to review everything and get the classroom ready to welcome your child.

Once all of your child’s enrollment paperwork is completed and returned, we’ll get them set up in our system and ready to start. At that time, a $50 new student fee, $200 administrative fee, and the first week’s tuition will be due to secure their spot.

Please note that tuition is billed weekly and isn’t prorated, no matter what day your child starts or if a holiday falls within that week. This helps us keep things consistent for both families and staff.

We’re so excited to meet you! 💙 Please don’t hesitate to reach out—whether you’re ready to begin the enrollment process or simply have a few questions, we’re here to help.
